Royalty is Earned

The historic Crown Hotel Collie's Earned Royalty mural series explores meaning behind those that are crowned. Is royalty a birthright? Or can it be earned? It is true, some are born with extraordinary talent, but must work hard to earn their place amongst a sea of competitors.

These murals feature folk who are considered royalty in their fields.

Self-proclaimed royalty, such as Freddie Mercury of Queen and the artist formerly known as Prince.

Others such as Aretha Franklin, Queen of Soul, are much more humble and have had their crowns bestowed by others.

Tina Turner and Jimmy Barnes feature together as the King and Queen of Rock and Roll, while our Kylie Minogue is the princess of pop. Betty White earns her place on the wall as Queen of Comedy.

And last, but certainly not least, Chris Collie has certainly earned his place on the wall as one of Collie's best-loved characters. Roadie to the stars, hitch hiker extraordinaire and beloved by all. Just about every Collie local has a story to tell about our Chris.
